Charlotte Gainsbourg - Deadly Valentine
The ‘Deadly Valentine’ music video contains a narrative demonstrating a couple growing up together from toddlers to an elderly couple. I am planning to create a narrative in my music video, which is inspired by this idea of progression, by demonstrating the artist in my video starting as unknown and everyday people, becoming world famous in the music industry. I will achieve primarily through the location of their performances. For example, at the start of the video, the group will be seen practising in a bedroom at home before progressing to playing in halls, local venues, small gigs and finally at a stadium concert such as the o2.

I also like the editing technique used to emphasis certain beats of the music. This happens when there is a bass for example, a cut is used to change the scene and location, and sometime props and costumes. I would like to imitate this is my music vide by cutting to a new location when there's a new beat in the music as it think this makes the transition and cut smoother and less noticeable.

Something Good Can Work - Two Door Cinema Club
This another example of a similar music video to the one I want to create. Firstly, I like the use of mine-en-scene with the use of locations. For example, the artists travel to a new location on a beat, and are then seen performing at this location afterwards. in terms of shooting this for my own video, I like this idea because the fact that we can see the artists travelling to the new location, means I can set the scene of the venue, how large it is, how popular the band is and this presents the narrative aspect of the video followed by the performative aspect when the band reaches the location and performs there. I could use this method in time with the song, for example when the chorus is playing the band will be performing the song, however for the gaps in between the verse and chorus (the bridge) the band will be seen travelling to the new location and this will be when the location is presented, with the aim of demonstrating the increasing popularity of the band as they progress through new locations and venues.

I also like the editing in this song in terms of the cuts. Like the previous music video mentioned, the music is used to smoothen a cut. This happens in this song when the video quickly cuts multiple times between two scenes in time with the beat of the music, before completely transitioning once the music beat settles, as seen below:
